This picture was taken just a few miles North of Cedar City, Utah. The locals call it Cedar Mountain. The Red colored portion of the Mountain is a result of the Iron in the ground.
I find it odd that the trees are at the top. This is an odd red, not like the sandstone red in Colorado. There's still quite a bit of snow for being that far south and so warm.
This red is similar to Red Rock Canyon just west of Las Vegas. Dennis and I hiked there when we were out west in 2001. I love these colors. Nature is so beautiful.
Does make for some odd colorization....neat.
