Monarch Pass - Continental Divide

This picture taken at Monarch Pass, Colorado on Route 50.
I believe that the two Mountain Peaks are St. Elmo and Mt. Antero which are both above 14,000 feet elevation.
Keep in mind that I am standing at an elevation of 11,312 feet.

  3. Just east of Monarch Pass is a ski area-Monarch Mtn. I've skiied there several times and I think it's my favorite. It's hard to keep my eyes on the slope I'm skiing with this beautiful view. I think I like this section of Colorado the best because the mountains are very steep and close together. Further north - where the big ski areas are- the mountains are just as high but further apart. btw: if you think driving at 11K feet is hard, try skiing at that elevation!
