Antique Streetcar (Trolley) - Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco
I believe this Trolley was built in Italy in 1928. It is what they call a "Peter Witt", named after a Cleveland Transit Commissioner. It was designed so that the passengers would enter the front door and exit the center doors. The conductor was in the center of the car and passengers would either pay when they went to the rear or when they exited the Trolley. This Trolley runs in the median of Embarcadero Street.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason I am thinking some of the streets are steep in this area....no? I like these over buses anyday.
