I went on the tour of the Texas Capitol Building. As one can see it is based on the Capitol Building in DC in design. The tour guide said it is taller (by 14 feet) than the DC Capitol. This goes along with Texas motto "Everything is bigger in Texas".
Limestone was used for the basement and foundation, the remaining construction used pink granite.
It's in Austin, right? I have a hard time remembering all the capitals after so many years. :-)

I always thought it was strange.....I love Texas music.....but I generally dislike their politicians.
