Galveston-Port Bolivar Ferry


I took this picture from the Ferry that went from Port Bolivar to Galveston. This Ferry runs 24 hours a day/7 days a week at approximately 20 minute intervals. The guard told me it can carry up to 60 cars.

    The Gulf waters look pretty muddy, though probably gets worse when the storms blow in!

    An interesting side note.....Sam Houston....governor and senator from Texas after it joined the union.....refused to join the confederacy.....showing me that years ago.....some politicians actually had convictions and integrity!
